If you want to make sales or leads in the marketing world, you have to push the boundaries. Now, with this technique, you are essentially marketing hot product offers to the younger user base. Before I go any further, I strongly recommend you sign up with Copeac, my favourite CPA network. Visit http://affiliates.copeac.com/signup, sign up for an affiliate account, and once your approved, start to familiarise yourself with the site.
Ok then, let’s not waste any more time and get right into this. It is very important you always think about your target user base, the very people you want to market your chosen CPA offer to. I recommend you select a nice performing campaign to begin with (always check Copeac’s recommended and high performing campaign, but by no means restrict yourself to these). For the purpose of implementing this technique to the maximum, choose an iPod (30GB video, nano, etc.), Camera, Mobile Phone or Gaming machine (PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, etc.) offer. Next, grab the basic ‘text ad’ - this usually comes after all the ‘banner creatives’ on the last page. This usually looks something like:
‘http://www.cpaclicks.com/rdt.asp?a=1234&b=1234&d=0&l=0&o=&p=0’
Yes, it’s an ugly looking link, but that won’t matter, because your Facebook Flyer ad will not show the site you’re linking to, which is great, because we’d rather not have people knowing we are sending them to a dodgy looking affiliate site now would we? If you find that Facebook has blocked a link for some peculiar reason, use a simple ‘URL redirect’ script to send your visitor to your affiliate link through another page. I recommend you set up a page on your web host with the following source code:
<html>
<head>
<title>Please wait while we forward you to the website…</title>
<meta http-equiv=”refresh” content=”2;URL=YOUR AFFILIATE URL HERE “>
<script>
url=’ YOUR AFFILIATE URL HERE ‘;
if(document.images) { top.location.replace(url); }
else { top.location.href=url; }
</script>
</head>
<body>Please wait while we forward you to the website…
</body>
</html>
Simply replace the required fields with your affiliate link, and copy the code into a blank notepad file. Save the notepad file as ‘redirect.html’ and upload it to your server. Once you have done that, use the link www.yoursite.com/redirect.html to put in the Facebook ad in order to get around their system of blocking certain URLs.
By the way, the link to the Facebook Flyer page is here:
http://www.facebook.com/flyers.php
Ok, so we have the offer, now its time to market it to the network we think it works best for. If you thought ‘high school’, you thought right. Now the CPM and CPC Flyer pages have different layouts, but in essence, you can choose the same options. What is important is that you target this particular offer to users between 13 and 18 years old (high school kids). Believe me, this is where it makes a difference – its all in the details. Displaying your ads to 40+ year olds won’t have the same conversion results.
